Hi All,
There have been many ideas proposed in the community to help the full collection mint out. Many of them, such as changing the mint price, are not technically feasible since the price is frozen in to the contract.
One such proposal that is still technically possible would be to randomize the mint - this is still possible because the tokenURI metadata function has not yet been frozen into the contract.
The implications of this are as follows:
In the current version of the contract, token id number 44 corresponds to token id number 44 in the MAYC project - this means that you can predict what future VAYC not yet minted will look like, but it is also more convenient for people to figure out which VAYC they're looking for a particular MAYC, since the tokenids are always the same.
In the proposed future version, all currently minted VAYC would retain their current token traits, but the next tokens that have not yet minted would be scrambled - every mint would be random and you would not be able to know which mutant's corresponding VAYC you were about to get. This means more people may want to mint, since getting rare VAYCs is no longer predictable. But it breaks the convienent MAYC to VAYC tokenid mapping, as VAYC number 4567 may point to MAYC number 6789.
Every VAYC would still correspond to a MAYC with the same traits, but the order would be scrambled. Should we do this?
