3rd Netswap Emission Cutting Proposal

Dear Netswap Community,

As you can see from our roadmap, we have a very ambitious vision for 2022, and so far have been on track to completing our goals this year. Due to the great decision from the team and community to reduce the max supply to 16,666,667 tokens, we must discuss the emission schedule once again due to the massively reduced supply. An overly aggressive emissions schedule can pump too much supply too quickly, leading to a potential decline in token value. Combine that supply issue with the current uncooperative and bearish market, and that decline can become steep.

There are three ways to fight back against this downtrend. One is for a bull market to emerge. Since we can’t do anything about that, let’s address the two factors which we can control, and how they relate to the utility and value of $NETT and $wNETT.

The first and most aggressive step that we’ve taken so far was to reduce the speed and intensity of our token emissions. We did that few months ago, creating a new timeline in which $NETT emissions would still remain attractive enough to ape into farms ($NETT / $METIS is one of our favourites, and one of the most lucrative), but still balanced enough to stabilize the value of $NETT. This cut was from 81,369 NETT/day to 20,297 NETT/Day

In our second emission cut, we proposed another reduction in $NETT emissions. This cut was from 20,297 NETT/day to 9000 NETT/day.

Now months later, we are now proposing a third emission cut. We want to continue to improve $NETT’s value and by releasing less supply into the marketplace, the token becomes more scarce which leads to a more valuable NETT token.

Like many blockchain projects, Netswap highly values decentralization and is handing more and more decisions over to our community. When it comes to pumping more exciting features into our platform and our token, those are decisions that are still made by our core team.

But when it comes to deciding on another emissions reduction, that’s where you, the community, comes in.
