1. Problem Last year, CryoDAO voted in its first research and development project to be fully incubated internally, and where the DAO would own 100% of any IP developed for the project post-implementation. The project proposal, CRYO-19: CryoDAO CPA Database, received an overwhelmingly positive vote in Q4, 2024, and gave the DAO a mandate to develop a commercially available research tool that would enable faster progress in cryobiology, cryopreservation, and related fields.
The project originally included a very light AI element. However, in the short time since the vote, many AI agent frameworks became available to developers. Integrating AI agents that could help researchers navigate and better benefit from the information stored in the database would allow us to make the database more commercially competitive.
2. Solution This proposal asks the community for a time-and-activity extension to be able to fully integrate modern AI agents into the Database and thus make it competitive on the market, and a mandate to explore partnerships that would make the database more valuable for users.
The project has been in implementation for several months. The database has almost been completed.
We propose to add the following activities:
AI Agents a. Development of a chatbot-like agent to query the database and related peer-review papers b. Exploration and potential development of hypothesis-generation agents c. Exploration and potential development of IP protection agents
Timeline We ask for a six-month extension for the completion of the activities above, moving the completion date to September 24, 2025.
3. Budget The team has been quite successful in efficient budget management for the original project. No additional budget is sought to implement the activities above.
