Dividend Reinvestment - Value Stocks

Voting ended over 3 years agoSucceeded

After going over some discussion in our discord I was pleasantly surprised to see that after a while people started considering investing in stocks. Given the current bear market for NFTs and Crypto in general, I truly believe stocks would be a way out for us and take advantage of our adequate fund size. The crypto market is not the only bearish market given the recent economic downturn due to inflation and recent statistics. Every day, the stock market is swinging up and down without any signals of stabilization yet and thus I believe going long in growth stocks would be foolish for us as we may end up doing worse than just keeping our money as is. A strategy which is often used by many in order to build their wealth steadily without taking big risks is investing in value stocks with strong dividend yields in order to have steady gain and hedge against any volatility in the specific stock. As such, I propose to invest in value stocks offering considerable dividend yields and our main focus should be either in the consumer discretionary industry given the rising prices which lead to increased revenue or oil and gas due to the war in Ukraine and the European energy sanctions against Russia which have already increased and will continue to increase demand for oil and gas from other suppliers.

Side Note: Dividends are paid in quarterly basis and it would be ideal to reinvest dividends in order to capitalize every quarter on what we receive back. Duration of the strategy depends on when the market will stabilize. As for the size of our investment I feel this should be discussed among all of us, but 1 ETH on this strategy is not enough, at least from my point of view.
