The Odyssey began as a three-part community rewards campaign to engage, create, and explore. While we initially had high hopes for the program, the spirit of The Odyssey changed as large-scale farming and bot activity took hold, making it harder to fairly reward real participants.
In addition to these challenges, broader market conditions also shifted, pushing us to reassess how we design a sustainable, community-aligned rewards system moving forward.
Crucially, the original rewards pool was set when the price of WILD was significantly higher. Distributing the full pool at todayโs lower value would result in disproportionately inflated rewards, which could compromise the long-term sustainability of the Wilder economy. We take full responsibility for how The Odyssey unfolded and acknowledge the challenges that emerged throughout the campaign. However, to protect the integrity of the token and future initiatives, itโs essential that we scale back the rewards responsibly, while ensuring that only genuine participants are rewarded.
Given that there are many perspectives on how The Odyssey should be concluded, we feel it is important to hold a Wilder World DAO vote on the best way to definitively end the program.
๐งน We continuously monitored the platform and took decisive action to remove bots and bad actors from the system. Regular clearances were conducted throughout the program to protect the integrity of the Odyssey experience, without impacting genuine users. Measures were also implemented to detect and limit multi-account and sybil attack activity, including deactivating accounts that had not connected both X and Discord.
๐ A final review has now been conducted, during which all remaining Sybil accounts were removed. Additionally, referral accounts showing clear signs of manipulation or exploitative behaviour were excluded to ensure a fair and meaningful distribution.
โ To ensure that rewards are fairly distributed to those who continuously participated in our missions, weโve implemented a threshold requirement: only users who earned more than 8,000 Shards in the mission pool will be eligible for these rewards. This is a standard approach in airdrop campaigns to properly reward those who participated throughout the campaign.
๐ Given that participants could earn between 150โ1,000 for social missions, and 500โ1,500 Shards for the 200 events attendance that took place, we believe this threshold represents a fair cutoff, excluding accounts that made only minimal contributions, while ensuring that engaged community members are appropriately recognised.
Unlike the Mission Pool, a threshold will not be applied for this pool, giving every Keeper their full wShards allocation.
As promised, stacked multipliers have been applied to eligible participants, as well as the 2.5x multiplier for Shards earned via the Mission Pool.
In addition, Wild Cards and Land points have been retroactively added for those who held these assets at the time of the snapshot taken, on March 10th, the day the Odyssey campaign was officially concluded.
These additions ensure all asset holders are fairly rewarded for their contributions and loyalty throughout the Odyssey experience.
