NFT NYC AirBnB Proposal

Since the last NFT NYC Proposal didn’t pass, I’ve written two proposals with revised guidelines. This proposal will ONLY be about the potential AirBnB at NFT NYC, and the other proposal will be about the potential event (outside of the AirBnB, for both Wizards and non-Wizards).

I’m proposing that we still rent a Wizards-only AirBnB that comfortably fits about 6 wizards. It will serve as Wizards Headquarters during NFT NYC, which is between June 20-23. We may decide to extend the dates of the AirBnB depending on events scheduled at NFT NYC.

Based on the most recent poll in the updates channel, 6 wizards voted that they would want to live in the Wizards AirBnB and would be comfortable sharing rooms with others, and 1 wizard voted they would want to live in the AirBnB as long as they had their own space.

So, I think we should move forward and rent an AirBnB that has about 5-6 bedrooms so we can accommodate at least 6 Wizards (possibly more if individual Wizards decide they want to share spaces).

Here are some options for AirBnBs that have around 6 bedrooms:

1. The “Bitcoin Townhouse”

Beds/baths: 6 bedrooms / 7 beds, 3 full baths, 2 half baths

Cost: $1,072 a night + $792 one-time service fee and $250 one-time cleaning fee

Location: Kensington (Brooklyn)

Description: I personally love this one- it’s got Bitcoin and crypto-themed decorations and fits 6+ wizards easily. Not super central location, but looks pretty dope

2. Celebrity Retreat in Queens

Cost: $1,521 a night + $1,137 one-time service fee and $450 one-time cleaning fee

Location: Queens

Description: This one is FUCKING SICK - look at the pictures - it’s literally like a mansion. Has on-site gym, heated swimming pool, looks great as Wizard headquarters, great for footage. Only issue is the location being in Queens - pretty far from Manhattan/ central NY. But also just look at the pics...it’s dope

3. $4m Celebrity’s nest near Manhattan, NY

Cost: $1,250 a night + $900 one-time service fee + $300 one-time cleaning fee

Location: West Harlem, near Upper Manhattan

Description: Location is more central, 4 floors, newly renovated, cool decor. Not as fancy as the previous option obviously - but still nice. Only issue would be 4 bedrooms, meaning some Wizards will have to share bedrooms. One of the bedrooms has 2 queen beds and a sofa bed. The other 3 bedrooms have 1 queen bed and 1 sofa bed.

4. Centrally Located AirBnb

Beds/baths: 4 bedrooms, 5 beds, 1.5 baths

Cost: $1,012 a night + $749.65 one-time service fee + $250 one-time cleaning fee

Location: Central location near Chelsea and Midtown South

Description: Central location, reviews say it’s relatively spacious especially for the location. Not “luxury” like some of the other options, but does have great location and a good amount of space according to reviews. The beds are apparently double-beds and not standard queen size. But this probably has the best location out of all the options here (tied with option 5).

5. 3-floor AirBnb (possibly a duplex? Can confirm w/ host)

Cost: $995 a night + $729 one-time service fee + $190 one-time cleaning fee

Location: Pretty central: near Chelsea, a few blocks from Times Square and Madison Square Garden

Description: Similar central location to option #4: space looks clean and comfortable. Features 3 floors. Again, not a luxury apartment but very centrally located + does have beautiful artwork and is nicely decorated.

Voting yes on this proposal means you are saying yes to Wizards renting an AirBnB (”Wizards Castle”) for NFT NYC, and having about 5-8 Wizards stay there depending on which option we choose/ what Wizards are comfortable with. Other Wizards are always welcome to crash at the Wizards crib. If you vote yes, please also give feedback in the NFT NYC channel on which option you like the most, or feel free to suggest any other options.

Voting no on this proposal means you don’t want to move forward with renting a Wizards AirBnB for about 5-8 Wizards at NFT NYC. If you vote no, please also give feedback in the NFT NYC channel on how this proposal could be improved/ why you don’t agree with the proposal.

There will be a SEPARATE proposal on whether we want to host a Wizards NFT NYC event (open to both Wizards and non-Wizards), so do NOT take into account the event when voting on this proposal. Also, there are other AirBnB options we can look at, but these are just the top 5 that I found. I can also send other options if none of these seem like a good fit. Thanks!
