Proposal: DeGenSecurity - Web3 Security Education

Hi Wizards, Happy New Year. I’m whitelighght, I’ve been part of the DAO from the early days and I want to propose a project that will bring fresh eyes to the DAO & be a useful resource given the ever increasing scams in the space. I recently received tons of increasingly sophisticated phishing emails (there was a email data breach of both Trezor and Ledger customers) and seeing people still fall prey to them and losing millions of dollars made me want to build something to help. DegenSecurity.xyz will be a resource filled with educational material, quizzes, blogs covering all the possible/known web3 scams and how to spot & avoid them. I have currently built out the landing page, phishing simulator and some of the lessons as a prototype of how it will look like (you can check out degensecurity.xyz). Upon approval I will build it out completely.

This proposal requests 1.25 ETH to build DeGenSecurity, a WizardsDAO-branded wallet security education site with short lessons, quiz, phishing simulator, and an on-chain NFT certificate.

The goal is to create a simple, useful public-good resource that helps users avoid common Web3 scams while giving WizardsDAO a visible, practical contribution to the ecosystem. Users finding this resource useful will be encouraged and redirected to wizardsdao.com to mint a Wizard & support the DAO.

What Will Be Built

A single, polished website with the following components:

1. Wallet Security Lessons (10 modules)

• Seed phrase hygiene
• Phishing & fake mint sites
• Malicious contract approvals
• Secure signing habits
• and many more best practices

2. Quiz + NFT Certificate

• A final Quiz with 3 levels of varying difficulty
• Users who pass can mint a Wizard Shield NFT certificate (3 designs based on difficulty level minted on either Base or Polygon)

3. Phishing Simulator

• Interactive “fake mint” challenge
• Users identify red flags and receive instant feedback

4. Content for Social Media

• Tweets and other material with web3 security tips to post on WizardsDAO’s X
• Questions & Material for mini contests on X to promote the website, Wizard Shield NFTs for winners

5. Open-Source Release

• Educational content shared publicly (CC0) The site will be WizardsDAO-branded and deployed on a DAO-approved domain or subdomain.

Why This Is Useful

• Wallet drains and phishing still remains a major issue in Web3
• Educational tools like this reduce risk for new and existing users
• WizardsDAO gains a reusable, shareable resource aligned with its culture
• No ongoing DAO management required after delivery

Timeline

• 3 weeks total from date of approval
  • Week 1: Lessons, layout, quiz logic
  • Week 2: NFT minting + phishing simulator
  • Week 3: Social Media material, deployment, handover

Budget Total requested: 1.25 ETH
This covers design, development, deployment, and initial setup.

Success Criteria

• Public site live and accessible
• Lessons, quiz, phishing simulator, and NFT mint working end-to-end
• All material, domain, access handed over to the DAO
