Initially when I planned this proposal, I wanted to propose loan terms that looked something like:
- 3% origination fee
- 12 % APR
- Max loan length of 120 days or a revolving loan
- loans less then 7 days would be free
I had hoped most of this could be achieved by changing the variables in the existing loan contracts, but immediately bumped into problems:
- the origination fee is hard coded and not a variable
- the loan retention premium is not set as an APR, but as a fixed percentage of the loan amount regardless of the loan term, etc
To achieve my goal would require new loan contracts and UI updates which (while not necessarily hard) would distract the Devs from their primary task at hand - getting X7 launched.
So I suggest we do this in 2 stages:
- Change what we can using variables in the loan contracts and ask the Devs to update those variables
- Have the community create new replacement loan contracts one by one with more commercially appropriate terms, assign the ownership of the replacement loan contracts to the devs and have the Devs deploy the new loan contracts.
Proposal:
For all chains, reduce the Loan Retention Premium on X7 Initial Liquidity Loan 002 and X7 Initial Liquidity Loan 003 from 6.25% to 0%
