XIP #17 - Reward Program V2

Overview

This XBorg Improvement Proposal suggests implementing additional features to the XBG Reward Program to increase XBorg awareness, the XBG holder base and ecosystem activity. If approved, additions to the XBG Reward Program will be implemented from Season 2, starting at the end of September, and improved over time. If rejected, the XBorg team will revise the proposal based on community feedback.

Partner NFT Boost

Holding select partner NFTs will provide a boost for the reward multiplier. The partner NFT collections will be carefully selected based on the floor price, holder base, and industry influence. Partners must agree to a predetermined marketing schedule before their NFT collection is added to ensure their holder base is effectively informed about the XBG Reward Program and XBorg. We reserve the right to remove, adjust or add a multiplier cap to boosts.

The goal of this is to:

1. Increase awareness: We will directly market XBorg and XBG to the NFT holders of the industry's leading and most influential NFT collections.

2. Increase holders: Holders of partner NFTs will need to buy, pledge and hold XBG to benefit from the reward multiplier boost.

3. Increase ecosystem activity: New XBG holders will likely vote on future governance proposals to benefit from its reward multiplier boost.

4. Grow community: New XBG holders will likely learn more about XBorg and integrate into the community.

Here is a list of partner communities we suggest approaching to set up an NFT boost and the suggested boosts and max caps. We will aim to add 5-10 partner NFTs for Season 2.

Partner Token Airdrops

XBG Reward Program participants will receive token airdrops from select XBorg partner NFT projects based on their accumulated season points. Initially, these will be 1:1 (USD value) token swaps, meaning our partners' holders will also receive XBG airdrops. This XBG will come out of the 5% allocated to the program already. If the XBG Reward Program gains popularity, new partners might use it as a user acquisition channel and airdrop their tokens without a swap. Additionally, each token swap will include a cross-community activation in the form of an X space or Discord AMA to educate members of the partner community about XBorg, thus optimising the conversion of new holders into core community members.

The goal of this is to:

1. Incentivise pledging: Further incentivise XBG holders to pledge to the program.

2. Increase holders: XBG will be airdropped to holders of leading projects that join our program. They will be incentivised to hold and pledge as their NFTs boost their rewards.

3. Gaming ETF: XBG will become the token to hold if you want exposure to the leading gaming projects and the gaming sector overall.

Increased Rewards

If program participants increase substantially during Season 2, we will increase the XBG pledging rewards to 2,000,000 XBG for Season 3. We aim to execute two partner token airdrops per season, and we reserve the right to increase or decrease the rewards based on the XBG price and demand.

The goal of this is to:

1. Increase conversion: Boosting the rewards will increase the program's attractiveness and convert more new participants from partner communities.

2. Increase virality: Boosting the rewards will increase the hype around the program and will fast-track the initial growth needed to create virality.

Virality Boosts

We will incorporate two features that aim to attract new token holders: a social and referral boost (this is subject to validation from the technical team). The social activity boost will incentivise XBG pledgers to support and create XBorg content on X. The referral boost will incentivise XBG pledgers to refer friends to buy XBG and participate in the Reward Program. Participants will get an additional bonus and increase their share of the reward pool by doing so.

The goal of this is to:

1. Increase awareness: Boosting the reach of the XBorg account, increasing the number of XBG/XBorg posts on X, and onboarding new holders to the reward program.

2. Growth flywheel: More holders and program participants means more social activity and referrals, creating a positive growth loop.

Conclusion

These suggested improvements to the XBG Rewards Program aim to raise awareness of XBorg and the XBG token, increase the number of long-term holders participating in the program, and positively impact the token price. By partnering with other projects to include their NFTs and tokens in the program, we aim to strengthen relationships with various communities and maintain XBorg’s position as an industry-leading project.
