Vision & Mission

yAcademy DAO aims to tackle the scalability bottleneck in blockchain security by facilitating the onboarding and nurturing of world-class talent in smart contract auditing and zero-knowledge cryptography. Our mission is to collaboratively grow a vibrant community of security engineers who can audit and safeguard the integrity of blockchain systems at scale.

Structure

yAcademy DAO operates as a decentralized autonomous organization with the following key elements:

Membership Tiers:

  • Core Contributors: Responsible for managing the DAO operations, teaching, and participating in audits.
  • Resident Contributors: Primarily focused on conducting audits, research, and assisting in teaching activities.
  • Fellows: Smart contract and zero-knowledge fellowship programs/boot camps participants. They are not considered members or contributors of the DAO for governance purposes.

Decision Making:

  • Voting Rights: All Core and Resident Contributors will have voting rights on proposals.
  • Proposal Process: Any contributor can submit a proposal, which will be discussed and voted on before execution.
  • Voting Mechanism: Proposals will be voted on using governance tokens, where one token reflects one vote.

Task Allocation & Compensation:

  • Core Contributors will oversee task allocation based on availability and expertise.
  • Compensation for contributions will be determined through a transparent process and distributed accordingly.

Treasury Management:

  • The DAO treasury will be managed by a multi-signature wallet controlled by Core Contributors.
  • Treasury funds will be allocated for operational expenses, contributor compensation, and funding new initiatives through a proposal and voting process.

Governance The yAcademy DAO will have a constitution that lays out the governance framework, including:

  • Membership criteria and admission process for different tiers
  • Voting processes and proposal templates
  • Core team responsibilities and accountability
  • Treasury management policies
  • Process for amending the constitution itself

The constitution will be drafted collaboratively by all tokenholders and ratified through an initial vote.
